as other posters have mentioned , i feel , too , that this is something that needs to be kept in the forefront of practicing jehovah's witnesses minds , as they will never hear about these settlements from their elders or governing body.

WOW what a great opportunity. - No pressure eh?
everytime I've confronted a JW, or read about someone doing it - whether its the UN, false prophecies, NWT twists, pedophile paradise - 2 witness rule - the list is really endless.... JWs & their supporters have the same reactions (up front) - defense of the indefensible, in the end it turns to denial, fear takes over and just like that YOU are a danger and need to be avoided.
The say it takes 10 years to come out of a cult. (if its gonna happen at all)
Why not use the B.I.T.E formula that identifies a (cult). USE another word if you can EMPHASIZING THE CONTROL. General definitions of all the characteristics, then one by one be specific with WT policies, traits, behaviour, loaded language, emotional blackmail techniques, secret/sacred science etc.
use their own words to confirm that they fit every identifier.
The uneducated public will be made aware of their sly recruitment methods, and more than some jws will get very uncomfortable.
Be sure and drop a few websites & books to read for more information - like "the finished Mystery" hahahah

CONVERSATION WITH MY JW SISTER LAST NIGHT......
by Mary inwell i guess this was a long time in coming, but yesterday afternoon, my family all got together and had a bbq at my parents' home.
when my parents left at around 6:00pm to drive my one non-dub sister home, my other sister and brother in law (former elder), stayed for a while longer.. we've never discussed my leaving 'the truth' a couple of years ago but she brought it up last night and we started talking about the religion.
everyone had been drinking but no one was drunk, so alot got said.

you're lucky you CAN talk to you sis in that way. Half the frustration is NOT being able to express honest opinions.
It might be to your advantage that she doesn't believe alot of the BS.
What if you brought up the 8 points of mind control instead to see if she can see any relationship to the WT. So many points are applicable - she might fair worse with those bells going off every time she experiences another tug on the leash - ESPECIALLY with the Sept KM coming up.
explain WHY bad beliefs don't die.
if she's even a tiny bit proud of her own intelligence - she might take off the rose coloured glasses.

JW view on the resurrection/existence of a "soul"
by chuckyy init seems to me that one thing jws have got wrong is their view on christs resurrection, resurrection of humans,and the whole soul/spirit debate.
consider 1st the resurrection of christ:.
1. jesus said he would raise up the temple of his body...not spirit, after 3 days.

funny, I was just thinking about this.
1st a more accurate word to describe JWs doctrine on life after death, is not resurrection but Re-creation. Another word they have hi-jacked into their "loaded language".
What I was wondering was, what would THE LIST look like?
How many A) religions/cultures believe there is a soul, and B) how many do not?
(not that there actually is or is not) but how many BELIEVE that there is something after death, and how did FAITH in that BELIEF come about?
I could think of alot for column A, but only 2 for the B side - JWs & Atheists.
You've just showed more scriptures to point out how the JWs teach a different gospel than that found in the bible. -

Tee shirt with foolish WT quotes, I will wear to reunion with witnesses
by dawg inas many of you know, i've been writing letters to family members telling them how damn stupid i think the gb is; providing proofs of all their comedic gaffs (building mansions for prophets and the like) including some of their most outlandish quotes-which i know all of us can remember verbatim.
spurned on by mary and others in this site, i've decided that i will try a new ploy.
my family reunion is every labor day and i've decided to wear a tee shirt to it with russell, rutherford, and franz's images on it... i will include images of a pyramid, beth sarim, on the front and 607?

another suggestion for an angle to cover..... all the publicity the WT gets from governments & activists praising their fight for "freedoms" - whenever I hear the words..... if it wasn't for the witnesses we wouldn't have freedom of religion etc.... I just shake my head.
The freedoms they fight for is for the legal organization to operate as a dangerous high control group with all the tax benefits - not for its individual members right to choose their beliefs. (they are all chosen for them)
